On Friday 6th September The Secretary of State for Transport, The Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP, celebrated 30 years of UK manufacturing and raising awareness for disabled motorists when he opened a brand-new purpose built factory facility from the UK’s leading vehicle adaptation company, Autochair Limited.

Every Friday Autochair office staff take part in “Dress Down Friday”. Dress down Friday is a simple activity allows the staff to wear whatever they want (within reason!) in return for a £1 charity donation. The money raised then goes to a selected charity and last year Autochair raised £280 pounds for the MS Activity Centre in Derby. This donation will help with funding for activities for people who are affected by MS.

The ability to be able to pick up and deliver cars back to dealerships is a service that Autochair has always prided itself on offering. Customers purchasing new vehicles can rest assured that if their adaptations are to be fitted at our premises here in Derbyshire, we can pick up and deliver their car back to the dealership with no wear and tear or mileage being added to the car.

Kay, a 25 year old mum of one from Newcastle, is no different from any other confident young woman her age, keen to pass her driving test to make her busy lifestyle a little easier for her and son Lewis, aged 5. But Kay suffers from Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), more commonly known as Brittle Bone disease, a rare hereditary genetic condition present from birth.
