Enjoying the freedom of our Smart Lifter boot hoist and/or Milford person lift? But looking to change the vehicle that it is fitted in? Not to worry, we can transfer your Autochair adaptation into a new vehicle.
In this guide, we outline some of the key things to note when it’s time to change your vehicle and transfer your boot hoist and/or person lift.
Original installer
Across the UK we have many accredited agents that are trained to install our products. If your Autochair adaptation was installed by one of those agents, then we unfortunately would not be able to carry out the transfer but would advise you to contact them directly.
If you are unsure who installed your hoist then you can give us a call and we can advise you on the agents in your local area.
If your adaptation was installed by us, then we will absolutely be able to facilitate a transfer if it is compatible with your new vehicle.
Contact us beforehand for compatibility
After establishing if we were the original installers, we always recommend that you contact us beforehand so that we can check measurements and confirm compatibility of your boot hoist or person lift with the new vehicle you’re thinking of getting.
In some instances, the new vehicle may not be compatible and thus we wouldn’t be able to facilitate the transfer. If this is the case, our advisors will work closely with you to offer advice and suggest alternative suitable vehicle options.
This is why, to avoid any disappointment, we highly recommend that you contact us before making a purchase on a new vehicle.
Will Autochair remove and buy my adaptation back?
We understand circumstances change, and you may no longer require our products.
Like with facilitating a transfer, we can only remove your boot hoist or person lift if we were the original installers.
We are ISO 9001 registered – a quality management accreditation which requires a quality control system of testing to ensure our products are of the highest standard. To maintain this standard of quality, we regret that we cannot buy back or sell used adaptations.
